The Things We Don't See

There are things we don't see because we don't want to. There are things we dont see because they are painful. There are things we don't see because the other picture is much more inviting.

And then, there are the things we ignore, for the sake of sanity, for the sake of self preservation, or holding on to the beautiful illusion that is so much more appealing than reality itself.

There is a point sometimes in our life, when the page needs to turn, and we need to face, what was once a beautiful illusion, that has a potential for irrevocably destroying our lives. We simply must see, face, and take on the facts, where they belong, seeing the ugly truth that was diverting us all along, so seductively hidden among the beautiful flowers.
